Part of the documentary series Underdanmark for Denmark’s national broadcaster DR; a series which investigates the hidden world of migrant workers who build the country yet remain invisible in public debate. Through close collaboration with migrants at the bottom of the labour market, the team infiltrates major contractors in construction and transport to uncover dangerous working conditions, illegal pay practices and links to organised crime.In this final chapter, the investigation turns to Denmark’s biggest state-funded construction projects and asks: when the state spends billions on bridges and hospitals, who really pays the price? Journalist Isabel Morales goes undercover with an Albanian whistleblower to expose illegal deals, safety violations and contract fraud on one of the country’s largest infrastructure projects.
